Extra sleep? It can happen with a newborn, first off as a new mommy you have to get to know
know your baby, why is he/she crying? There could be several reasons, but the biggest is baby
just wants to feel secure. Remember this is new for baby also. With a newborn the easiest
way to catch some extra Zs is to let baby sleep with you, and even though everyone says NO!
The baby will become use to this and want to sleep with you all the time, this is not true, I
let my newborn daughter sleep with me for the first few weeks, and mind you she was hungry
every two hours almost to the minute.
My Lil angel isn’t spoiled and I got extra sleep this way, she is now two months old and
sleeps for six straight hours and in her crib.
So for any of you new mom’s out there, there is no such things as letting a newborn cry it
out! They need your touch and love to grow and feel secure. Even you need a feeling of
security, so why would people think that babies do not? I am the mother of five beautiful
children and I have yet to let one of them cry it out. Sometimes babies have no idea what
they want so it is up to mommy to figure it out. Mommy is a pretty tough lady, she can go and
go on a few hours of sleep, but let’s face it we all wear down. So I say mom’s cuddle baby
up lay them beside you in bed or were ever you decide to rest at and catch some sleep
when baby does, even a short nap can recharge your batteries!
P.S. I often let my little one sleep on my chest while I caught a few minutes of maybe even
an hour long nap, it’s also great snuggle time!
