I am a mother to three children, who all were really quite bad with teething.

The first thing I tried were the teething pegs, which did work for my oldest child Mark. He would bite on them all day, they also have a little tie on them, that you tie around their wrists, which was exeptionally good as kids do lose things.

My second child Nathan, did not go through as much pain as Mark. When his little cheeks started to go red and flaky, I’d know that his gums were annoying him. I would take one of the water/gel teething ring out of the freezer(you must always be prepared). He love sucking on them, the coldness was a great relirf to him. He did’nt like the teething pegs, although he did enjoy biting on the pegs for hanging up my washing.

My youngest daughter Rebecca really suffered with her gums. Sadly Rebecca did’nt enjoy the teething pegs either. Bonjella did’nt give her relief at all, neither did the teething powders. I would give her her frozen water/gel teething, when that did’nt help, I would let her suck on a ice-lolly, or an ice-pole. She really enjoyed these. You don’nt need to but them, you can makes up your own just using water or you could add just a little diluting juice if you prefer and put them in the freezer. These were a god send.

The most important thing is to always be prepared. That way you will not get yourself stressed out. Keep calm, and no matter how bad your child is remember that this is a normal part of your childs development, it will pass.

Good luck to any mothers out there who’s kids are teething, I sympathise with you.

Remember keep calm and be prepared are the most important things.
